1. About Us
  • Mr Whiskers Cat Café ("we", "our", "us") operates a cat café offering interaction with resident cats, pre-prepared foods heated on site, and on-site coffee preparation. By making a reservation, entering the premises, purchasing goods, or using our website (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Reservations & Booking
  • Making a Reservation: Reservations must be made via our website. A booking is confirmed upon receipt of payment and our confirmation email.

  • Session Duration & Capacity: Sessions run in designated time slots to protect cat welfare and manage capacity. We reserve the right to adjust capacity, seating, and session times when necessary.

  • Cancellation & Refunds: You may cancel a booking up to 24 hours before your session start time via our website and receive a refund of the booking fee (less any non-refundable third-party transaction charges, if applicable). No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 24 hours of the session start time, or for no-shows.

  • Amendments & Transfers: Where available, you may reschedule up to 24 hours in advance via the website. Bookings are not transferable to other persons without our prior consent.

  • Late Arrival Policy: Please arrive on time for your booking. A 15-minute grace period applies for late arrivals. After this time, your session may be shortened or cancelled without refund. We cannot extend sessions beyond the scheduled end time.

3. Café Rules & Cat Welfare
  • Respecting the Cats: Do not pick up or chase cats. Interaction must be gentle and guided by the cats. Do not wake sleeping cats or disturb cats in designated rest areas. No flash photography. Food and drink must not be shared with cats.

  • Health & Safety: Wash/sanitise hands before and after cat interaction. Report any scratches or bites to staff immediately. If you have allergies to cats or specific foods, please assess suitability before booking.

  • Age Restrictions: Guests must be 10 years or older to enter the café. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

  • Right to Refuse Service: We may refuse entry or ask any person to leave if behaviour risks cat welfare, disrupts other guests, or breaches these Terms. No refunds will be provided in such cases.

4. Food & Beverage Service
  • Food Preparation: We serve pre-prepared foods heated on site and coffee prepared on site. Menu items and prices may change without prior notice.

  • Allergens: Please inform us of any allergens before ordering. We follow best-practice allergen controls, but cross-contamination risks may remain. Allergen information is available on request and/or our menu; customers with severe allergies should consider their personal risk.

  • Dietary Preferences: We endeavour to provide vegetarian/vegan/gluten-sensitive options where possible, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

5. Payments, Fees & Pricing
  • Payment: Prices are listed on the Site and/or menu and are inclusive of applicable VAT where required. We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout/in-store.

  • Booking Fees: Booking fees are payable at the time of reservation. Booking fees will not be refunded for cancellations made within 24 hours of session start time, or for no-shows.

  • Promotional Offers & Gift Cards: Promotions may be subject to separate terms and limited availability. Gift cards/vouchers (if offered) are non-refundable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are valid until their stated expiry.

6. Customer Conduct
  • Be courteous to staff, other guests, and cats. No smoking, vaping, or illegal substances on premises. Alcohol may only be consumed if we are licensed and serving it; intoxicated guests will be refused service.

7. Personal Belongings
  • You are responsible for your belongings. We do not accept liability for loss, theft, or damage unless caused by our negligence.

8. Liability & Waiver
  • General: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

  • Animal Interaction: Cat interaction carries inherent risks (e.g., scratches, allergic reactions). By participating, you accept these risks and agree to follow staff guidance. We are not liable for injuries resulting from failure to adhere to café rules or staff instructions.

9. Accessibility
  • We aim to make our premises accessible and will make reasonable adjustments where feasible. Please contact us in advance with any specific needs.

10. Photography & Content
  • Personal, non-commercial photography is permitted provided it does not disturb cats or guests. Commercial photography or filming requires prior written consent. By entering, you consent to incidental inclusion in café promotional materials where filming/photography occurs; please inform staff if you object and we will seek to accommodate.

11. Privacy & Data Protection
  • We process personal data in accordance with UK data protection law (UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018). Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, store, and protect data, including reservations and cancellations.

12. Complaints & Feedback
  • If you have a concern, please speak to a manager on site or contact us via the website. We aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe.

13. Emergency Closure Procedure
  • In the event of an emergency (e.g., cat illness, utility failure, severe weather), we may cancel or postpone sessions at short notice.

  • If we cancel due to an emergency, you will be offered either: a rescheduled booking at no extra cost, or a full refund of your booking fee.

  • We are not liable for any additional costs incurred by customers due to emergency closures.

14. Changes to Terms
  • We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on the Site with the 'Last updated' date.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
